Library

Save and manage generated palettes and recipes

Library lets you save palettes and recipes so they can be reused later.

Color systems are often used across multiple projects, not just once.

Library makes those systems easier to organize, manage, and apply again when needed.

Color Sets

Color Sets let you manage palettes as grouped collections.

They can be organized differently depending on your workflow or project needs.

Baked Sets

Baked Sets are color sets generated from recipes.

These sets are managed as grouped palettes built from a recipe structure.

They include behaviors such as:

  • Moving to another color set
  • Deleting related palettes when a baked set is removed
  • Automatically updating semantic palettes when the base palette changes
  • Preventing direct edits to semantic palettes

Compact Mode

Compact Mode switches the Library into a smaller swatch-based view.

This makes it easier to use saved colors like a quick-access panel.

Clicking a swatch applies it to the selected layer.

If a linked Figma Variable or Style exists, ColorBread will apply that asset first. Otherwise, it applies the raw color.

Apply behavior

  • If only the palette exists → the color value is applied
  • If the palette is linked with Styles → the Figma Style is applied
  • If the palette is linked with Variables → the Figma Variable is applied
  • If both Variables and Styles exist → the Style linked to the Variable is applied

Palette list

This section shows all saved palettes.

Palette swatches

Palette swatches work like swatches in other design tools.

Click a swatch to apply it to the selected layer.

As in Compact Mode, linked Figma assets take priority over raw color values.

Palette details

Click the palette name or open its detail view to see more information.

Colors

You can update the palette by changing the Base Color.

  • Sync to Figma: Updates linked Figma assets based on the current palette

Info

You can rename the palette and review its linked Figma asset information.

  • Rebuild Assets: Recreates missing linked assets if some Variables or Styles were deleted

Code

View the palette as token-style code and copy it directly into your workflow.

Managing a design system

Library helps you manage color systems in a more structured way.

This makes it easier to:

  • Keep colors consistent across projects
  • Work faster in design files
  • Reuse color systems over time
